Mormons for ERA was founded by a group of members of the LDS church that have a common cause of working to get the Equal Rights Amendment ratified into the U.S. Constitution. It is our belief women are equal. To ensure that equality of the sexes is permanent the constitution needs to be amended stating its as such. Chelsea Shields, Anissa Rasheta, and Mark Barnes make up the board of directors. There are a few amazing members of our organization, but we need many more if we can accomplish our goal. So join us! Let your voice be heard to our policymakers. Petition our government with us. It is time. It is possible.
Our strategy is to educate the public, members of Congress, and State government officials through social media, events, and materials. Then, we will lobby the federal and state governments to ratify the ERA. We need resources, donations, and volunteers. Make history. Be a part of this change.
The Equal Rights Amendment simply states,
Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.
